SpartanNash launches first Fast Lane-equipped store
Family Fare location to be the first of 25 click-and-collect participants in 2017
SpartanNash has rolled out its inaugural Fast Lane store at a Family Fare in Grandville, Mich.
The program allows customers to utilize personal shoppers who can fill digitally placed orders and prepare them for curbside pickup.
Shoppers can leave specific instructions for the associates charged with retrieving the items, such as requesting green bananas or a specific milk expiration date.
Previous orders can also be saved for expedited future shopping.
“The launch of Fast Lane is part of SpartanNash’s commitment to providing our store guests with a personalized, convenient shopping experience that exceeds their expectations,” Ted Adornato, SpartanNash executive vice president of retail operations, said in a statement.
“Our click-and-collect program takes our company’s digital customer experience to a whole new level. The entire Fast Lane experience is tailored to fit the needs of our on-the-go store guests, while providing quality products at an affordable price.”
Orders placed prior to the 3 p.m. deadline will be available for same-day pickup.
The service will cost customers $99 annually, with monthly memberships clocking in at $16.95. Individual orders are also available and will cost $9.95 each.
Customers that use the code “FASTLANE” can waive fees on their first three orders.
By the end of 2017, SpartanNash plans to have the feature made available in 24 other Michigan stores. It projects that 50 total locations nationwide will have it by 2018.
SpartanNash is primarily a distributor that also operates 151 supermarkets under banners such as Family Fare, Family Fresh and SunMart.
