CHICAGO - The International Grocers Association here announced the recipients of their annual President's Cup Awards and Red Oval Family Awards of Distinction.

The IGA President's Cup Awards were given to the following companies: Laurel Grocery Co., London, Ky., for overall IGA performance; Bozzuto's, Cheshire, Conn., for greatest IGA brand development; Merchants Distributors, Hickory, N.C., for greatest IGA development; and IGA Queensland for greatest international IGA development.

Criteria for the President's Cup Awards include the increase of IGA retail sales from last year; net increase in IGA retail square footage; the number of supermarkets added to the IGA system; the IGA operational assessment rating; IGA brand support; Hometown Proud involvement and participation in IGA events.

The Red Oval Awards were given to ConAgra Foods, Omaha, Neb., for extraordinary IGA growth; and Georgia Pacific Corp., Atlanta, for extraordinary IGA commitment. The Red Oval Awards are presented to two Red Oval Family partners, and criteria is focused largely on participation in the Red Oval Advisory Committee, IGA Grocergram advertising and support of IGA events.
