KEENE, N.H. — Funeral services for Ron Wright Sr., co-president of C&S Wholesale Grocers, are scheduled for Thursday at St. Bernard’s Church here, the company confirmed yesterday. Wright died Sunday following a battle with cancer.

He had joined the company, which is based here, in 1983 as a private-label buyer, after a career as an independent store owner and more than 10 years with Star Market.

“Ron was instrumental in everything C&S did, from the birth of ES3, to the acquisitions, to special projects, to sophisticated capital analysis. He had a work ethic and a commitment to me and to this company like no other," the company said in an internal statement.

Wright is survived by his wife, Ellen, three children, and one granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations go to the American Brain Tumor Association.
