The Angie’s Boomchickapop team launched the campaign in April, and distributed more than 300,000 seed packets to consumers who wanted to grow their own popcorn at home. That’s six million seeds given to fans to plant, nurture and harvest all spring and into fall. “The success of our Grow Some Boom campaign is a true testament to our fans’ commitment to good food and the good life,” says Angie Bastian, co-founder of Angie’s Boomchickapop. “This six-month endeavor far and away exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to bring it back next year.” The Grow Some Boom campaign was a true fan experience. Boom buffs shared updates, learned tips and tricks and watched videos through www.GrowSomeBoom.com. The company even enlisted the help of bloggers to develop special recipes for harvested Boom. The Angie’s Boomchickapop Facebook page was also filled with photos of fans’ gardens, stalks and popcorn throughout the campaign, all of which are featured in a wrap-up video here that’s been shared with the company’s social community. “Growing popcorn is much different from growing sweet corn, and we set out to let people know how much fun it can be,” says Bastian. “At the end of the day, we partnered with our fans in a great way celebrating garden-to-table, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.”
