Among Friends mixes are made with whole grains and high-quality flours that offer superior taste, texture and nutrition. “We pride ourselves on creating mixes that are full of the good stuff, and free of the bad stuff: no gums or fillers,” says CEO Darcy Zbinovec. Though five of Among Friends’ nine original mixes were gluten-free, the company saw a need to provide more whole grain baking options for those with dietary restriction. The new whole grain, gluten-free offerings will be on shelves beginning this month, with nationwide availability by July. “We created Among Friends to give busy families a better option for baked goods. Our treats are better for you and easier to prepare in your own kitchen,” explains co-founder Lizann Anderson. Fellow co-founder Suzie Miller adds, “Among Friends fans have told us how much they appreciate having gluten-free sweets that actually taste good. We wanted to open our entire whole grain product line to gluten-free fans, and provide for future growth in the gluten-free category.” The company is also honoring Zbinovec with Darcy’s Delish Old-Fashioned Chocolate Chip cookie. The brand’s updated take on an American classic has a crispy edge with a soft interior and just the right amount of premium Callebaut chocolate chips. “It just so happens that chocolate chip is my favorite,” Zbinovec says. “I’m honored to be commemorated with a cookie, and thrilled to be a part of this incredible, fast-growing and fun brand.”
