GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 17, 2010) - BI-LO is launching two new health and wellness initiatives in its pharmacy department, offering seasonal flu vaccinations and a new prescription discount card.

BI-LO pharmacies are now offering discounted flu vaccinations to customers who present their My BI-LO BONUSCARD and want to take that crucial first step toward having a healthier winter season.  The flu vaccines will be available for only $27 with a My BI-LO BONUSCARD (and $30 without).  Each BI-LO pharmacist will be available to answer any related questions during the clinics and are always available at the pharmacy.

Beginning Oct. 1, BI-LO will kick off its new prescription discount card, available in all pharmacy locations.  The card, which costs $5 a year, provides deep discounts on prescriptions and is good for the entire family's prescription needs.  Upon signing up, customers will receive a BI-LO gift card worth $5 to go towards all Top Care® health and beauty products.

The pharmacy discount card program was designed to help those without prescription insurance and includes prescriptions offered on BI-LO's existing $4/$10 generic drug plan.  Customers can save up to 75 percent on generic prescriptions and 25 percent on brand-name prescriptions.

"BI-LO is dedicated to providing great care and consultation to all of our customers," said Curtis Hartin, senior director of pharmacy for BI-LO.  "It is important now more than ever to stay protected with this year's vaccine, and with these two new programs our knowledgeable pharmacists are ready to provide shoppers more ways to save without having to sacrifice cost or quality of their care."
