Hy-Vee’s team of registered dietitians are celebrating National Physical Fitness and Sports Month by hosting free virtual events, including store tours, virtual seminars and live Q&As, throughout the month of May.

The events aim to provide education about ways to shop, exercise and snack to help support an active lifestyle.

Its “Move More” Wellness Challenge seminars even give participants the chance to win a prize. During these live seminars, to be held four times over the month, Hy-Vee dietitians will discuss physical fitness and provide customers with information about sports nutrition and hydration; afterward, participants can enter to win a $100 Hy-Vee gift card. Eight winners will be randomly selected, with one winner coming from each state in Hy-Vee’s operating region.

And each Thursday at 4 p.m. in May, Hy-Vee’s dietitians will be joined by wrestling coach Dan Gable for a live virtual telehealth in which they will answer questions related to improving performance nutrition, increasing activity level and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Hy-Vee dietitians will also lead virtual store tours through the aisles of select Hy-Vee locations, sharing the basics of performance enhancing food preparation and consumption. Shopping tips and product recommendations will be included as part of the store tours.

West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hy-Vee, which has more than 275 retail stores across eight Midwestern states, earlier this year launched Healthie, a virtual dietitian services platform that offers virtual store tours, dietitian discovery sessions, monthly virtual classes and more aimed at helping its customers with their wellness journeys.
