Hy-Vee has partnered with the Minnesota Timberwolves and global nonprofit Matter to help increase awareness of childhood obesity and educate families on how to make healthy meal choices.

Through the initiative, Hy-Vee customers will be able to purchase coupons for Matter's health-focused meal kits, Matterboxes, at checkout and provide them to children in their communities.

All 10 Hy-Vee locations in the Twin Cities region of Minnesota will offer the program through Feb. 27, and both the retailer and the Minnesota Timberwolves have each pledged up to a $5,000 match for Matterbox purchases during the campaign.

“As a grocer, it’s our responsibility to make sure people have access to nutritious food and understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle,” said Mary Fuhrman, SVP of Hy-Vee’s northern region. “This partnership complements our mission to make lives easier, healthier and happier.”
