With the theme, Pave the Way: A New Era of Retail Dietetics, the 2021 RDBA Virtual Experience will take place May 4-6. The Retail Dietitians Business Alliance (RDBA) Virtual Experience includes keynotes, sponsored breakout sessions, a virtual expo hall, one-on-one appointments with retail dietitians, networking opportunities and more.
Led by the RDBA, this virtual engagement event is intended to help retail dietitians (RDs) ensure they are positioned for leadership in a new pandemic and post-pandemic era. Designed to provide RDs with flexibility, the event is slated for 1.5 hours each morning and 1.5 hours each afternoon.
“Just as 9-11 forever changed airline travel, the coronavirus pandemic will have long-lasting impacts on how and where consumers purchase and consume food,” event organizers say. “As a result, it is more important than ever for brands to stay relevant, be strategic and reinforce their relationship with retail RDs.”
When last year’s in-person event was canceled just five weeks prior to opening day, organizers quickly pivoted to produce the “ultimate virtual event,” according to a post-event attendee survey. In the 2020 RDBA Retail Experience event evaluations, 100% of RD attendees indicated they would participate again in 2021, and would encourage their peers to register as well, organizers say.
A year in the making, this year’s event features an even more robust lineup that includes interactive live keynotes, including Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert’s 2021 trend presentation covering key learnings from the pandemic as it relates to eating at home, online grocery shopping and staying healthy and well; RDBA Executive Director Annette Maggi on post-pandemic leadership; and the results of RDBA’s annual membership survey results.
