JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores here yesterday said it was partnering with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida to offer discounted "Health Cards" at all 353 of its Florida locations.

The cards include a $59 Gift of Health Care card, which can be applied to the insurance plan the recipient selects during an activation call. The $19 FamilyBlue discount card offers an array of discounts on dental, pharmacy and vision care for three months.

"The current economic downturn has left many people without access to healthcare benefits for themselves and their families. This program offers an affordable solution to that critical issue," said Mary Kellmanson, group vice president of marketing for Winn-Dixie, in a prepared statement.

The cards are being merchandised on permanent, freestanding display units in the pharmacy area, and in the cold and flu aisle of stores that do not have a pharmacy.
