Curbside pick-up is offered in six Long Island stores: Medford, South Setauket, Lake Ronkonkoma, Hampton Bays, Riverhead and East Islip. The addition of Long Island brings the number of Ahold’s grocery pick-up sites to 66.

Stop & Shop now operates 43 Peapod pick-up sites. Other locations are in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Westchester County, New York.

The other pick-up unit is located in a facility in Hartsdale, N.Y., according to Peg Merzbacher, director of marketing for Peapod. Ahold owns Peapod.

In addition to Stop & Shop-banner store pick-up locations, there are 20 Peapod pick-up locations in Ahold’s Giant-Landover trade area, and three stand-alone Peapod-branded centers in Chicago.

To use the service, consumers shop at peapod.com. Unlike Peapod’s home delivery service, store pick-up shoppers are not charged a delivery fee and do not have to meet the $60 minimum order requirement. They also can choose a one-hour pick-up window, compared a two-hour window required for home delivery.
