BOISE, Idaho -- Albertsons here said Nicola DiFelice has been named president of the company's 207-store Shaw's division, based in West Bridgewater, Mass. She succeeds Paul T. Gannon, who was previously named chief marketing officer for Albertsons. DeFelice, 40, spent the last two years as senior vice president of marketing at Shaw's after moving through a series of positions in procurement, category management and merchandising. Prior to joining Shaw's, DiFelice spent six years at Sainsbury's, the London-based company that sold Shaw's to Albertsons. Larry Johnston, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Albertsons, said, "Over a distinguished 18-year career she has developed a strong track record of results. Her creative mind, strong cross-functional background and experiences at both Shaw's in the U.S. and Sainsbury's in the United Kingdom will prove invaluable to the business moving forward."
