Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) has partnered with Retail Software Solutions Group to help independent grocers ensure products are priced appropriately. It has also partnered with ReposiTrak, which offers a scan-based trading program that provides out-of-stock visibility so direct-store-delivery suppliers can optimize on-the-shelf inventory. AWG members and vendor partners also will gain labor savings with expedited check-in, freeing up valuable working capital.

Retail Software Solutions Group's (RSSG's) DealWise and PriceWise identify opportunities for retailers to improve sales, pricing and profitability.

“Properly acting on data in areas surrounding pricing and margin is a key element to competing in today's difficult and complicated marketplace,” said Gil Anderson, president and CEO of Overland Park, Kan.-based RSSG. “We are excited to work with a marketplace leader like AWG to solve some of the most complex problems their members face in today’s retail environment.”

With RSSG and AWG working together, retailers get a unique 360-degree perspective of key metrics that drive their business and profitability. Retailers using this technology can unlock insights into pricing and profitability while improving workflow and saving time.

“We feel that the RSSG solutions have opened up new insights to our operations that have led to significantly improved results,” said Jim Vaughan, president and CEO of DGS Acquisitions LLC, an AWG customer operating Price Chopper stores in Iowa. “They’ve helped level the playing field by providing tools, automation and vision into our data that provides visibility into pricing, margin and consumer behavior.”

Keeping Products on Shelves

Out-of-stocks have become critically important for independent grocers as online competition continues to grow and ReposiTrak's scan-based trading program helps them avoid losing sales and customer loyalty by allowing visibility into point-of-sale transactions to accurately replenish store inventory.

“In today’s omnichannel world, it’s essential to the success of independent grocers to partner with their suppliers and share store data to enable more accurate store replenishment,” said Louis Stinebaugh, VP of sales and support for AWG, the nation’s largest food wholesaler to independently owned supermarkets.

Kansas City, Kan.-based AWG and Murray, Utah-based ReposiTrak are enrolling suppliers that are interested in gaining additional distribution throughout the AWG member network, currently composed of nearly 3,800 stores across 36 states. The ReposiTrak Speed Retail Platform drives growth and supports all supply and demand chain activities for retailers, manufacturers and their trading partners, consisting of three product families: Compliance & Risk Management, Supply Chain Solutions, and MarketPlace Sourcing and B2B Commerce. Delivered via one technology platform, all the applications are mutually reinforcing and work synergistically to create value and positive impact across the entire enterprise.
