Supervalu Adds Meat Marketers
here has created several new category management positions for meat marketing as part of an effort to coordinate strategic marketing plans by realigning into marketing regions.
In the Northern region, Wayne Eldridge has been named director of category management for meat. He was most recently manager of perishable products for the company's Minneapolis division and has been with Supervalu since 1976. He reports to Larry Langsweirdt, vice president of category management for the region.
Tim King has been appointed director of category management for meat for the Central region. Most recently he was manager of military sales for the Ohio Valley division and joined Supervalu in 1994 after 13 years with Wetterau. King reports to Gary Gionnette, vice president of category management for the region.
Don Sims has been named director of category management for meat in the Southeast. He was most recently meat manager of the Lewis Grocer division, a position he held since joining Supervalu in 1990. He reports to Jim Fenzel, regional vice president of category management.
In the Northwest, Dan Magnuson has been appointed director of category management for meat. He served most recently as meat-seafood manager for the Minneapolis division and joined the company in 1987. He reports to John Aune, the region's vice president of category management.
Randy Domer has been named director of category management for meat-seafood for the Midwest. He was most recently manager of meat products for the Great Lakes division. He joined Supervalu in 1985. Domer reports to Mark Anderson, regional vice president of category management.
Supervalu is a leading food distributor, supplying about 4,600 retail stores in 48 states.
