NODDLE TO RETIRE FROM AHOLD

Ahold here said Alan Noddle, 61, executive vice president responsible for operations in Asia and Latin America and a member of the Ahold corporate executive board, will retire early in 2002. Noddle has been on the board since 1998. Previously, Noddle was president and chief executive officer, support services, Ahold USA, then based in Atlanta. Prior to that, he was president and CEO, Giant Food Stores, Carlisle, Pa., an Ahold operating company, where he worked from 1980 on.

Noddle will be succeeded by Theo de Raad. De Raad previously was a board member of German Metro AG.

DE GABRIEL NAMED AMS MANAGING DIRECTOR

ZAANDAM, Netherlands -- Associated Marketing Service here said Felix Fernandez de Gabriel has been named managing director, effective Dec. 1. Previously, he was commercial director, Ahold Czech Republic, and prior to that he was with the French retailer, Auchan. De Gabriel will succeed Dick Roozen, who has been appointed vice president, Ahold Global Sourcing. AMS is an alliance of 10 European food retailers.
