Kroger Names Giordano QFC President

nnounced the promotion of Donna Giordano to president of Quality Food Centers, a Kroger banner operating 86 stores in Oregon and Washington. Giordano will succeed Darrell Webb, who was appointed president of Fred Meyer Stores, Portland, Ore., recently.

Prior to her promotion, Giordano was vice president of sales and marketing for King Soopers, Denver, Colo., another Kroger banner. She previously held a variety of positions with King Soopers, including management positions in the bakery, pharmacy and advertising departments at the division office and store management positions.

Two Executives Exit Fleming's Retail Division

DALLAS -- Keith Durham, senior vice president, operations, Fleming retail, and Tim Otte, another executive in the retail division, both left Fleming earlier this month, a spokesman for the grocery wholesaler, based here, said last week. "They came in to grow the retail business, and now we're getting out of retail," said Shane Boyd, Fleming spokesman. He said he did not know how many other positions at the company would be eliminated.
