amed Ryan S. Redner and Gary M. Redner to its board of directors. Ryan S. Redner is director of direct-store delivery, with the added title of assistant to the president. He reports to Richard Redner, president and chief executive officer, and oversees daily operations in the warehouse markets and 11 Quick Shoppes throughout eastern Pennsylvania and New York. In addition to his operational duties, Ryan will work with the construction department, conducting expansions, lease negotiations and remodeling projects.
Gary M. Redner is director of grocery wholesale operations; his additional title is assistant of executive vice president of procurement. His responsibilities include coordinating and managing Redner's warehouse in Muhlenberg Township. He will assist the executive vice president of procurement, Gary W. Redner, in purchasing produce and meat items, as well as coordinating and streamlining the warehouses logistics department. The promotions are the first steps in advancing the directors to the executive level of company management, according to the company.
WAFC APPOINTS HENLEY SECRETARY/TREASURER
LOS ANGELES -- The Western Association of Food Chains here selected Dale Henley, president and chief executive officer of Haggen, Bellingham, Wash., for a two-year term as secretary/treasurer of the nonprofit education organization for the food industry. Henley is slated to be named president of the organization following his two-year term.
AHOLD CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS HEAD LEAVES
8ZAANDAM, Netherlands -- Ahold said its senior vice president of corporate communications, Sharon Christians, will be leaving Ahold effective July 1 to pursue a career outside of the company. Kiki Stiemer, vice president of management support, will be the interim head of the department until Ahold appoints a permanent replacement. Christians joined Ahold in October 2002 after having worked in senior-level corporate communications positions at several multinational companies in Canada, Great Britain and Europe.
