LAKELAND, Fla. -- Publix Super Markets here recently introduced a private-label line of frozen seafood, according to information posted on its Web site. Each variety is individually quick-frozen and ready to thaw, cook and serve.

On the company's Web site, Publix Seafood Buyer Guy Pizzuti was quoted as saying: "As an added convenience to customers, each package provides a description of the product's flavor and texture, as well as an easy recipe idea."

Many packages in the new seafood line are resealable to ensure freshness.

"You know you're getting a convenient catch with these new products. With a few packages in your freezer, it's simple to create a healthy meal any day of the week, year-round," said Pizzuti.

Customers can find Publix Frozen Seafood in the frozen food, seafood or meat departments of all Publix stores.

A spokesman for the chain said no further information was available "to the trade press."
