DULUTH, Ga. -- Funeral services were held here for George Chirtea, a former corporate officer at Supervalu, Minneapolis.

. Louis, which was acquired by Supervalu in 1992. At Wetterau, he was president of retail stores, senior vice president of marketing and president of retail support services, among other positions.

Chirtea, who was in the retail and wholesale supermarket field since the age of 14, also worked for Pueblo International, Hills Supermarkets, Waylo Discount Foods and Kroger Co.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta, daughter, Gayle, and son, Matthew.
