Giant Food Named Grocery Partner for D.C. Sports Teams and Verizon Center

The Legacy Partnership with Giant supports and helps develop programs that will further the grocer’s local community objectives of hunger relief, improving the lives of children and building healthier communities.

Giant Food has entered a multi-year Legacy Partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). Through the partnership, Giant Food will be the exclusive grocery partner of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Wizards and Verizon Center. The Legacy Partnership with Giant supports and helps develop programs that will further the grocer’s local community objectives of hunger relief, improving the lives of children and building healthier communities. As part of the partnership, Giant will also become the presenting partner of the Capitals and Wizards Kids Clubs and Verizon Center’s Family Show series.

“Giant Food is delighted to partner with Monumental Sports as a legacy partner,” says Gordon Reid, president, Giant Food of Landover, MD. “Monumental Sports has a long history of providing the Washington, D.C., area with events that bring friends and families together, a value we share.”

Giant Food’s partnership with MSE includes a wide range of branding and event marketing opportunities for the teams. As the presenting partner for the Capitals and Wizards Kids Clubs, Giant Food will be part of special Kids Clubs events such as skills clinics and meet and greets. They will also be part of the Kids Clubs’ contests and members’ monthly newsletters.

Verizon Center hosts over 220 events annually, including a variety of family shows. With Giant’s partnership, they will become the presenting partner for Verizon Center’s Family Show series.
