Giant Food of Landover, Md. and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation are working together to support children in need this holiday season. Giant will host Toys for Tots collection bins in all 170 neighborhood stores in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. The partnership continues to unite members of the local community in a spirit of giving, as shoppers are encouraged to play an active role in assisting children of our region during the holidays. “As the nation’s capital grocer, Giant Food is proud to continue our partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and help lead the charge in holiday giving for children in the region,” says Jamie Miller, manager, public and community relations, Giant Food of Landover, Md. “We encourage our customers to donate new, unwrapped toys at their local Giant and bring holiday cheer to a child in need.” Bill Grein, vice president, Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, says, “The Toys for Tots collection bins set up in Giant grocery stores throughout the region are an invaluable assistance to thousands of children this Christmas. It is a pleasure to keep fighting the good fight with Giant for the third consecutive year. All children deserve to feel some delight this time of year, and it is our joint mission to help accomplish this end.” Since 1947, Toys for Tots has been delivering hope and holiday cheer to less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy. What began as a gift of a rag doll has grown to provide toys and gifts each year to more than 7 million children nationwide.
