Giant & Martin’s Donates to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

GIANT Food Stores and MARTIN’S Food Markets recently concluded their annual in-store balloon campaign for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. By purchasing a CMN paper balloon at the checkout for a $1 donation, customers raised $540,888 from June 23 through July 13. “The passion and enthusiasm of our associates for Children’s Miracle Network is second to none,” said Rick Herring, president. “I am always humbled to see the overwhelming response from our generous customers, and I want to thank everyone for their support of children who are fighting for good health.” GIANT/MARTIN’S has been a proud supporter of CMN Hospitals for 17 years, recently eclipsing the $30 million fundraising mark. Each year GIANT/MARTIN’S conducts balloon and candle paper icon campaigns in support of children’s hospitals in the Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Danville/Altoona, PA, Baltimore, MD Washington, D.C. and Richmond, VA areas. In addition to in-store fundraising efforts, GIANT/MARTIN’S associates also regularly volunteer at CMN hospital events, including radio and television telethons. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the alliance of premier hospitals for children, is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals across North America. CMN Hospitals are well-known for providing the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
