CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Kroger Co. here today announced that Bruce A. Macaulay has been promoted to vice president of grocery merchandising and procurement. He succeeds John R. (Dick) Owens, who is retiring after 38 years with the company. Mr. Macaulay, 46, has held a series of management positions at Kroger since joining the company 25 years ago. Prior to his promotion, he served as director of grocery category management. Before that, Macaulay spent two years as a zone manager in the Columbus Kroger Marketing Area (KMA). He also previously served as coordinator of category management in Columbus. Mr. Macaulay joined Kroger as a part-time retail clerk in 1973. He has a B.S. degree from Ohio State University.
