LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Rodney McMullen, president and chief operating officer of The Kroger Co., Cincinnati, has been named chairman of the board of governors of GS1 US here, the U.S. standards group that oversees the UPC bar code and other standards.

Also elected to the board were John Hogan, vice president of customer service and logistics services for Johnson & Johnson; Larry Pulliam, executive vice president of foodservice operations for Sysco; and Sanjay Sarma, professor of mechanical engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
