KROGER SPRING AD HELPS PLANT SALES JUMP

ATLANTA -- The Kroger division here set spring bedding plant sales blooming with a special on jumbo flats for $9.99.

"Now, Kroger's spring bedding plants are at their best," read the ad copy. "Thanks to our huge supply, they're also at their best price!"

According to the ad, jumbo flats of Georgia-grown impatiens, begonias, petunias, marigolds, portulaca, vinca, zinnia, salvia, dianthus, coleus, snapdragons and other varieties were available for $9.99.

"Only at Kroger, and only while supplies last," the ad read. The ad also suggested other items are available at Kroger.

"So plant yourself at Kroger now . . . and, while you're Krogering, you might want to check out our groceries, too."

Officials at Kroger could not be reached for comment.
