Bob LaBonne Jr., owner of three LaBonne’s Markets in Connecticut, has purchased Oliver’s Supermarket in Prospect, Conn., which was sold by owners Len Noble and Ken Gnazzo to wholesaler Bozzuto’s Inc. several months ago, according to a local news report

The deal closed Dec. 13 and Noble will help with the transition, which is expected to begin after the new year. LaBonne plans to expand the organic produce selections as well as add catering and deli offerings. The move to LaBonne’s Market also means that the former Oliver’s customers will have access to more than 400 private label products.

Including the acquisition, LaBonne’s has more than 400 employees in the four stores; no layoffs are planned.
