LAKELAND, Fla. – Real meat is the first ingredient in a new line of premium pet food at Publix Super Markets.

The Publix Premium line for cats and dogs also contains no corn, soy or wheat and no artificial colors or flavors. Each flavor includes vegetables, fruits and whole grains.

The line is available in two flavors for dogs — lamb and barley with carrots, and chicken and rice with peas — and one for cats: chicken and rice with cranberries.

Mars Petcare, Franklin, Tenn., produces Publix Premium, according to a Publix Facebook post. Each 8-lb. bag is currently on sale for $8.99.
