LAKELAND, Fla. -- Publix Super Markets is testing a variety of replica party platter displays in a unit in an upscale section of Atlanta.

The bakery there is displaying a replica mini-Danish and rugalach platter and a combination pastry platter.

The trays, made of plastic, are designed to show exactly what the store's party trays look like. They are also equipped with a rack to hold accompanying brochures, according to the manufacturer.

Officials at Publix, which has some 400 units throughout the Southeast, could not be reached for comment on their use of the trays. The replicas are made by Fax Foods, Vista, Calif.
