Ralphs Grocery Company will be holding open interviews for all military veterans and their family members on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The one-day hiring event is part of a company-wide initiative to fill an estimated 400 positions in its 197 stores.

"Ralphs is deeply committed to the nation's veterans and their families, and we continue to seek out opportunities to honor heroes through career opportunities," says Valerie Jabbar, president of Ralphs. "Ralphs is a place where you can come for a job and stay for a career," she added, noting that the majority of Ralphs store managers started as part-time clerks.

Food 4 Less stores serving Southern California and the greater Chicago, Ill. area will also hold open interviews on Wednesday, Nov. 9 for all military veterans and their family members.

Interviews will be held at 95 Food 4 Less stores in Southern California and at 14 Food 4 Less stores in the greater Chicago area. Job interviews for military veterans will also be held at the company's 22 Foods Co stores, which serve central and northern California. "We are honored to offer our military veterans, who have heroically served our nation and defended our freedoms, the opportunity to work at Food 4 Less," says Bryan Kaltenbach, president of Food 4 Less. "We know that veterans offer unique skills and experiences that can contribute significantly to our goal of being the finest supermarket in each community in which we operate. Our commitment to hire veterans affirms the value we place on our military men and women because no one who has fought for our country overseas should have to fight for a job at home."

Ralphs and Food 4 Less have a long history of supporting the nation's military members and veterans. Through their Honoring Our Heroes program, Ralphs and Food 4 Less, along with their parent company, The Kroger Co., have raised more than $12 million since 2010 to help support USO programs, which represents the largest cumulative gift to the USO in its nearly 75-year history.
