CHICAGO -- Supermarket retailers were well-represented at the Retail Systems 2000 conference and exposition here last month. Supervalu, Schnuck Markets and Harmons City were among the companies represented in the Retail Systems conference program while Furr's and NetGrocer participated in seminars put on by the Voluntary Interindustry Commerce Standards (VICS) association. Here, at the opening reception on the show floor, retailers from all classes of trade gathered before heading out to sample the Windy City's fine restaurants. The VICS annual supply-chain conference was held in conjunction with Retail Systems 2000, sponsored by Retail Systems Alert Group, Upper Newton Falls, Mass.
