Rosie Launches Retailer-Branded Mobile App for Independent Grocers

Allows independent retailers control over their brand. Built with independent grocers in mind not software developers, the app allows independent retailers to maintain control over their brand across the omnichannel shopping experience, from in-store to desktop, and finally, mobile.

Rosie, an online grocery platform geared toward local retailers and wholesalers, has launched a retailer-branded mobile app for independent grocers.

The first retailers to launch on the Apple and Google Play stores with their branded app are Crop’s Fresh Marketplace, a single-store operator located in Pennsylvania, and Gerrity’s Supermarkets, a nine-unit chain in Pennsylvania. The company said in a statement that it is on pace to launch 75 more grocery stores by the end of the first quarter with its new white-label mobile app offering.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to extend the Crop's experience and brand to mobile shoppers with Rosie's help," Crop's operations director Chad Cropper said in a statement. “Our customers love the convenience of shopping from their phone, and now we can offer our signature experience in a way that’s familiar to them.”

Rosie said that because its retailer-branded apps are built with independent grocers in mind, retailers can deliver consistent branding and a consistent experience across shopping channels, from in-store to desktop to mobile.

"We've found over 50% of customers shopping on Rosie e-commerce sites do so on mobile, and conversion rates are three times higher than on desktop," Dave Makar, Rosie’s chief customer officer, said in a statement. "We believe it's time for retailers to embrace their very own on-the-go option for their shoppers, and Rosie is giving them the tools they need to fully own e-commerce while putting their brand front and center."

The company said independent retailers will be able to easily and seamlessly offer customers an app in familiar branding; reach customers with mobile marketing tools and digital merchandising; and integrate current partnership systems, including POS, loyalty and ecommerce.

"Retailer-branded mobile apps will pave the way for Rosie to establish itself as the digital front end of grocery," Rosie founder and CEO Nick Nickitas said in a statement. With Rosie products designed for "independent retailers who want to run the digital side of their business effectively on modern tech," he continued, Rosie is "solving these retailers' mobile needs and giving them the competitive edge they require."
