In this week’s recap of the Top 10 most popular Supermarket News articles, the top story was Kroger ends debit card rewards program. The Kroger Rewards card offered discounts on multiple brands and would give shoppers fuel points on all purchases. Shoppers would receive half of every $1 spent on fuel points. So, $100 on groceries would equal 50 fuel points. The card also offered 2% savings on Kroger’s private label — Our Quality Brands.

In other news, Kroger has received two more bomb threats, this time in Cincinnati, Ohio, and only minutes apart from each other. The stores were evacuated Monday afternoon following separate threats, reports local news outlet WCPO 9 Cincinnati.  Cincinnati police said the first Kroger store received a bomb threat and was briefly evacuated, but ultimately police found no active threat.
