EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Supervalu yesterday announced the launch of Stockman & Dakota, a new private label line of premium USDA Choice Angus beef.

The new brand will feature a comprehensive range of cuts ranging from rib-eyes, New York strips, Porterhouse and T-bone steaks, to boneless rump and boneless chuck roasts.

“In total, the program will encompass 60 different cuts of beef and feature improved merchandising, new signage and enhanced service in the meat department,” a company announcement stated. “Consumers will now find useful information, tips and tools both in-store and online to help them make better sense of beef.”

To help shoppers become more familiar with preparing different cuts of beef, the meat departments in all Supervalu family stores will receive a new in-store signage system, and will begin grouping beef cuts by cooking method.
