MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here underscored its commitment to logistics operations by streamlining the department and naming vice presidents to head each of four new regions.

Anderson will serve as regional vice president of the Northwest region, which consists of Supervalu's Denver; Ryans, Mont.; Spokane and Tacoma, Wash., divisions. He most recently served as director of distribution for the company's Great Lakes division.

McGee will take the helm of the Northeast region, which includes the Keene, N.H.; Maine; Pittsburgh; Milton, W.Va.; Mid-Atlantic and Sweet Life divisions. He has served as director of retail operations, merchandising and personnel for the Food Marketing division in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Woodward will serve as regional vice president for the Southeast region, which is comprised of the Lewis Grocer; Quincy, Fla.; Anniston, Ala., and Atlanta divisions. He previously served as director of distribution for the Mid-Atlantic division.

Vegter will spearhead logistics for the Midwest region, which encompasses the Great Lakes, JM Jones and St. Louis divisions, as well as the Central and Northern regions, which extend from North Dakota to Kentucky. His most recent position was corporate general director of distribution.

Supervalu also named Mark Ortenburger general director of distribution, succeeding Vegter. Ortenburger has served as fleet administrator and, most recently, as director of corporate distribution operations.
