Wakefern's Janeway Plans Retirement

KEASBEY, N.J. — Dean Janeway, president and chief operating officer of Wakefern Food Corp. here, told the audience at Food Marketing Institute's Future Connect conference in Dallas last week that he plans to retire from the cooperative wholesaler in January.

KEASBEY, N.J. — Dean Janeway, president and chief operating officer of Wakefern Food Corp. here, told the audience at Food Marketing Institute's Future Connect conference in Dallas last week that he plans to retire from the cooperative wholesaler in January.

Joe Sheridan, currently executive vice president, will succeed him, Janeway said.

Speaking at a session that focused on the topic of employee succession planning, Janeway said, "To give you an idea of how committed I am to this topic, I brought the guy with me who's going to succeed me in January of next year, Joe Sheridan."

Wakefern said further details on the planned succession were not yet available.
