HARRISBURG, Pa. — Wal-Mart Stores has decided against installing wine vending machines at several stores in Pennsylvania, reports said Wednesday.

The Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer said it was terminating an agreement to install around 24 of the machines in a letter to the state Liquor Control Board here, the Associated Press reported. State authorities launched the vending program a year ago, but the machines have reportedly been plagued by mechanical problems.

Wegmans Food Markets, Rochester, N.Y., ended its experiment with wine kiosks at Pennsylvania stores earlier this year.
