As Walmart GoLocal, the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer’s white-label, delivery-as-a-service offering, expands and commercializes among small, mid-sized and large businesses, it is adding Local Express to its client roster to offer delivery for specialty food and beverage retailers, including local independent grocers, bakeries and restaurants.

Through the collaboration, Local Express, an end-to-end e-commerce platform, will be able to expand into additional businesses in areas such as Chicago, Miami and Arlington, Texas, the company said in a release. Additionally, it will “enable our food and beverage providers to offer low-cost, convenient delivery to their customers and stay competitive,” said Bagrat Safarian, CEO of Local Express.

Walmart GoLocal uses Walmart’s delivery infrastructure and experience to enable local businesses to get their products to customers more efficiently and at a lower cost, according to a release. In the past three years, Walmart has scaled its local delivery network to serve more than 2,000 retail locations nationwide, it said.

“We are excited to work with Local Express to bring low-cost, customizable delivery capabilities to their independent food and beverage providers,” said Harsit Patel, general manager and VP of Walmart GoLocal.

Walmart GoLocal continues to expand and sign new clients. Earlier this year, it teamed with Cognetry Labs to boost delivery capabilities for small and mid-size grocers.

With more than 500 onboarded stores, Glendale, Calif.-based Local Express offers private-brand web stores, mobile apps, self-checkout and kiosks for customer convenience, as well as AI tools to manage fulfillment, inventory, deliveries, and shipments.
