ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans Food Markets here is helping shoppers plan a four-course beer pairing party in its latest winter edition of Menu Magazine.

The guide pairs appetizers, a soup and salad, main course and even dessert recipes with complementary beer.

Artichoke and Asiago Profiteroles, for instance, are paired with Guinness Draught; Beer Cheddar Cheese Soup and French Blend Salad with Walnut Vinaigrette, with Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale; Slow-cooked Country Pork with Kielbasa and Sauerkraut with Paulaner Natural Wheat Hefe-Weizen; and Chocolate Mousse Cups with Lindemans Framboise.

“Our four-course menu features beer pairings to complement the flavors in each dish,” according to Wegmans. “We’ve added flavor notes and perspectives from Wegmans Executive Chef Russell Ferguson.”
