SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets is using 100% recycled PET plastic bottles for its 24-packs of private-label water.

The 20-ounce bottle is made with recycled resin derived from baled post-consumer plastic purchased from municipal recycling plants. Weis Quality bottled water, which also uses 25% less plastic, is produced and bottled by Ice River Springs.

“We know that eight out of ten plastic bottles end up in landfills. Our new Weis Quality 24-pack bottled water is a creative, practical product that helps our company address this challenge and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Bruno Garisto, Weis’ director of corporate brands, in a prepared statement.
