TORONTO — Sears Canada here on Thursday named longtime Loblaw Cos. executive Calvin McDonald as its new chief executive officer. McDonald succeeds Dene Rogers, who resigned.

TORONTO — Sears Canada here on Thursday named longtime Loblaw Cos. executive Calvin McDonald as its new chief executive officer. McDonald succeeds Dene Rogers, who resigned.

The appointment is effective immediately. McDonald, most recently Loblaw's executive vice president of conventional stores, has 18 years of retail experience at Loblaw serving a variety of roles, including vice president of online services, vice president of merchandising and marketing for No Frills, and senior vice president, grocery.
