LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix revealed the contents of a new specialty sub its shoppers created.

The sub contains ham, turkey, roast beef and Swiss cheese on Italian five-grain bread with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers and mayonnaise.

Each day this week, the retailer let shoppers vote on a different part of the sandwich, including bread, meat, cheese and add-ons.

The voting took place on the Publix Facebook page.

“Okay, fans — let’s build the Publix Fan Sub! All this week, YOU choose all the ingredients for your perfect sub,” Publix wrote on its Facebook page.

The winning creation was revealed today on the Publix Facebook page.

The promo received strong social media engagement. Within an hour of posting the winner, more than 1,000 people “liked” the post, and nearly 150 commented on it.
