MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P is using social media, television ads and other tools to promote its new private-label Woodson & James USDA Choice Angus Beef.

One of the TV ads features Tom Alvarez, a butcher at A&P’s Woodcliff Lake, N.J. store. Alvarez describes the beef as "steakhouse quality at supermarket prices."

Alvarez is also featured in videos on YouTube and on a new website, www.woodsonandjames.com, which features recipes, a store locator and an internet coupon for $5 off a $25 Woodson & James purchase.

"I’ve never seen meat with such perfect marbling," Alvarez states in one of the videos.

Available in cuts such as porterhouse, t-bone, sirloin and ribeye, Woodson & James replaced A&P's previous beef, steak and roast offerings in all A&P, Pathmark, Super Fresh, Waldbaum’s and The Food Emporium locations in May.
