BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here — which is now calling itself Albertsons Market — said Monday it has implemented a program that allows customers to access recipes and obtain grilling tips by scanning QR codes with their smartphones.
Customers can scan a code on Steakhouse Choice posters in Albertsons meat departments to watch grilling videos, view recipes and other activities. All of the videos can be found on the Albertsons Market YouTube channel.
“One of the most common questions that our meat department associates get is “how do I cook this?’” said Craig Moss, vice president of meat for Albertsons Market, which is separate from the Albertsons banner owned by Supervalu. “This is a great solution that helps customers learn the best ways to grill steaks directly from their smartphones. Our goal is to ensure that customers get relevant information that can inform their shopping choices in addition to getting the best out of the foods that they’re fixing for their families.”
The Steakhouse Choice videos feature Albertsons Market meat operations specialist Tim Brua, who lends his years of experience in backyard grilling to the videos. Customers can learn about marinades, cooking techniques and side dishes.
