ALBERT'S APPOINTS NEW MEAT, FRESH DIRECTORS

as tapped two former natural food retailers for newly created category director positions within the company. Paul Gingerich was appointed meat category director. He previously worked as national meat director for Alfalfa's and Wild Oats Natural Marketplace. In his new position, he will be responsible for managing Albert's growing assortment of organic meat and deli products, officials said. Francine Schoenwetter is the new fresh category director, responsible for supervising the company's portfolio of non-produce organic and natural fresh foods, officials said. Previously, Schoenwetter worked at the Whole Foods Market, Wild Oats and Bread & Circus chains. Most recently, she operated her own consulting business. Based out of the company's Denver office, Gingerich and Schoenwetter report to Jim Hagen, vice president of fresh products at Albert's, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Natural Foods.
