MONTVALE, N.J. — Pathmark today gave its Advantage Club loyalty card holders a big head start on the holidays, launching a free turkey promotion for Thanksgiving — one of the earliest holiday promotions of the year for a major supermarket chain this year.

Customers who spend $300 with their Advantage Club card between Sept. 25 and Nov. 26 will receive a free whole turkey weighing up to 20 pounds. Customers who pass the $300 mark can also choose $10 off their choice of frozen turkey breasts, any meat or poultry item from the meat department, or a 96-ounce Stouffers Frozen Vegetable Lasagna, according to an ad in the company’s Sept. 25-Oct. 1 circular.
