PFIZER/WARNER-LAMBERT TO MERGE

NEW YORK -- A three-month takeover battle has ended with Pfizer here agreeing to acquire Morris Plains, N.J.-based Warner-Lambert.he United States, according to press reports.It would be the second-largest drug company in the world behind the combined entity of Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham, sources said.The two London-based companies announced their merger plans last month.
