DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Pork Producers Council has reported initial success with its ongoing "The Other Tailgate Party" campaign, promoting pork-based recipes and a chance to win a tailgate party at the Orange Bowl in Miami, during the championship college game, with coach Mike Ditka. The promotion includes floor graphics, shelf strips and related signage, as well as on-pack, peel-off recipe suggestions/contest entry forms. Participating retailers include Cincinnati-based Kroger and Jewel-Osco, Chicago. The promotion is part of the NPPC's ongoing year-round merchandising initiative, which focuses on seasonal variations of its established slogan, "Pork. The Other White Meat."
