Price Chopper Supermarkets here on Friday said it has named Larry Ritzert vice president of meat merchandising, reporting to Mark Brown, vice president of perishable merchandising.

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets here on Friday said it has named Larry Ritzert vice president of meat merchandising, reporting to Mark Brown, vice president of perishable merchandising.

In his new position, Ritzert will be responsible for the sales, margin, variety, inventory, procurement, advertising and long-term planning of the meat department for the 119-store chain.

He joined Price Chopper in 2007 as a senior category manager. Previously he was the meat and seafood director for Cincinnati-based Biggs, a division of Supervalu, Minneapolis.
