LEESBURG, Va. — Wegmans Food Markets has begun construction of a new store here at the The Village of Leesburg shopping center, developers said Tuesday. The 140,000-square-foot store is expected to open in November 2009 and will anchor a 1.2 million square foot mixed-use project including retail, residential and offices, according to Cypress Equities, the project’s Dallas-based retail developer. Wegmans, based in Rochester, N.Y., currently operates four stores in Virginia.
