logo in a gray background | Illinois Engineered Products (IEP) has launched a security gate for loading docks and receiving doors that proves the adage, “less is more” say company officials. IEP manufactures the Eco Gate in Chicago, where it is also headquartered, using 25% less steel finished in a non-toxic water-based coating. Company officials say not only is Eco Gate more affordable, but it also is more environmentally friendly while still providing a level of protection expected from IEP. The new product is designed to appeal to a wider range of customers who may have formerly found security gates cost-prohibitive. “We’re delighted that we were able to create an alternative to less-expensive foreign-sourced products,” says Dean Wynne, president. “Not only does it protect our natural resources, but also our national resources. It’s a win-win.” While Eco Gate uses a quarter-less steel than IEP’s other security gates—made from 100% recycled materials and fully recyclable—it doesn’t scrimp on the features that provide access control to areas where merchandise or inventory is stored, adds officials.
